    11 Pounds Less
After switching from lots of carbs to no or very little carbs (only in the morning), my wife has dropped 11 pounds in about 4 weeks. According to her, the best part about her new eating strategy is that she is never hungry.

Right now she exercises 2 times per week. However, she is a teacher and rarely stops or sits down during the day. She is always moving from classroom to gym to library to recess to auditorium to chapel, etc.

That's so funny. It would be funnier if we knew those 11 pounds left how many of their friends.

Good for her! Does she have a set weight loss goal in mind?

I think almost any diet accompanied with plenty of exercise will work!

    Still, well done to her...

That's true. However, I think a lot of people fail because they associate that word "diet" to it. People tend to think diet is something that happens for a limited time. A change in eating habits or eating behavior is something that continues on.

After having 3 kids, she ended up about 45 pounds more than she had ever been. By her own admission, the extra 45 pounds just doesn't feel right or healthy.

So.....and I'm going to get so smacked down for this, but hey it's early..... does this mean you are changing your name to SeeLESSButts?

Following everyone else is a GREAT way to become average.

    Thumbs up
That's fantastic news and very encouraging for the rest of us trying to lose weight! The 45-pound weight gain is understandable, esp. after having children.

I just made the move and joined a gym this week. My first workout day is tomorrow, so I'm totally excited!

Congrats to your wife! I've got about 10 pounds to go and after having three kids, it seems even harder to lose. But, with eating "good" carbs (whole grains, fruits and veggies) and more protein, plus exericse, equals slimmer, fitter body!

Good for her Seymour!! I did the no carb thing for a few weeks back about 7 years ago and lost about 12 lbs in about 8 wks, but mind you I was also doing a desk job in an office back then and not very active while doing it. Mistake number one - no diet can be successful at least long term, without the physical activity component. I just made an appt. with my trainer yesterday to go back and see her Wednesday and start back on the ol' bandwagon... here's to hoping I don't fall off this time. LOL
