    Unhappy Missing Checks
I thought it was good news when Linkshare first announced weekly payments. But I don't have direct deposit and it's turning into a nightmare. Already I am missing three checks. Two from September and the first October payment. I assume the second October check is in transit.

If they handle lost/never received checks anything like they handle tax information, then I can see real trouble for the future. I guess the answer is direct deposit which doesn't make me all that comfortable w/ Linkshare since it has been impossible to get them to properly report the tax information they have (and screwed up).

I wish they would assign people to deal with nothing but affiliate issues because I don't care what the question is, it's always another department that handles it. I'll report back how long it takes to trace and reissue the missing checks.

If there are discrepancies with taxes, I don't see how check vs. direct deposit would change things. There's no real downside to direct deposit.

It's just an example of how poorly they handle important financial information such as tax info. I've tried unsuccessfully to have the tax information changed for over 9 months. It's a simple change, from the #ss to the EIN# but for some reason Linkshare is incapable of making the change and it is extremely important that the change is made. I've made several phone calls, tried to change it myself with their submit form numerous times and the info. remains incorrect.

How can I trust them not to screw up my checking acct. if they have access to it? Anytime you allow direct deposit, you also allow direct withdraw of deposits.

It's obviously the only way to go, but I definitely am not comfortable about it given how irresponsible they have been with adjusting tax information.

Their direct deposit has been great for me. No complaints.

The "scoopability factor" can be scary -- that's why I prefer checks.

I hope you solve the missing payments problem you currently have with them.

I've been using direct deposit for probably 15 years, between work (back when I had a J-O-B) and all the various affiliate networks. The only times I've ever had a "direct withdrawal", it was to correct a double (or incorrect) posting of a direct deposit. I've been signed up with direct deposit on all of the networks since they started offering it.

Any affiliate network that did an unauthorized withdrawal from affiliates would face very, very heavy criticism. I just don't see it happening. You're far more likely to have a bounced check than anything like that.

For me, it wouldn't really even be possible for them to do. Once money hits my account, I transfer it out to another account. There's nothing (or at least not much) in there for them to withdraw.

What if it happened to just one affiliate? It might be more difficult to garner the criticism then...

The simple fact is that Linkshare has a persistent problem with issuing checks. The availability of direct deposit is a moot point here.

Well, with three out of five checks issued missing, I don't think I have a choice but to do DD. If something does happen with a questionable withdrawl (not withdraw..sorry..lol)... I'll deal with it then. Now I guess I should focus on getting the missing checks. How many checks have been issued since the weekly was announced? I show three in Sept. and two so far for October. Oops. four in Sept. / two in Oct.

I've been with LS a while and had DD with no problems. I think you'll be safe. probably safer than lost checks.
If you're really that worried, get 2 accounts, one that the DD goes into, and then just turn around and transfer to your other account.

    azizkasam,

If you contact our support team as Krystyna mentioned. They will help you get your missing payment reissued. Unfortunately, we don't support Direct Deposit to India. I do have another suggestion which is to set a threshold on your account. An alternative suggestion I have is for you to set a high threshold on your account. Although this may delay some of your smaller payments it will be a little easier for you to track because there will be a lot less payments you will need to wait for.

    davidh,

We strive on responding to all of our publishers within one business day. Do you have case/incident numbers that you could share with me? I want to get to the bottom of this and make sure everyone gets a response. Please send me a PM so I can investigate on why you haven't received a single reply.

Just how does one get a "case/incident number" by sending an email?

I also had trouble with checks not getting issued a few years ago. So I changed to direct deposit. Now that doesn't work; DD payment supposedly "sent on 05-11-2012" has not been received.

@davidh When I send an email to LinkShare Publisher Support, there is usually an Autoresponder message sent, by their system, about 10 minutes later, with a case or incident number.

I had 3 Direct Deposits that LinkShare showed originated on 11 May 2012 arrive in my bank account, earlier this week, without any issues. (They showed payments received from 2 advertisers on 10 May 2012).

There are two (2) possible reasons for your problem. One is that the Batch your Direct Deposit was in did not actually go out as the LinkShare system thought. That happened to me once, about 3 years ago. When LinkShare checked and found that batch had not gone out as they thought, they resent that batch again. I believe in a day or 2 the $ was in my bank account.

The other is that my bank told me, at that same time, about 3 years ago, that it can take 3 to 5 business days, for a Direct Deposit to land in my bank account and be finalized.

Check with your bank again and if the Direct Deposit is not showing, call LinkShare Publisher Support or send them an email so they can check into it. GL
