Chinese search engines "hijacked" : US analysts
US Internet search engines in China were being hijacked and directed to Chinese-owned Baidu, analysts said Wednesday, speculating that this may be retaliation for the White House award to exiled Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama.

Oh for crying out loud. It's not a hack. Jeez I guess there's a serious case of paranoia the other side of the pond.

The Chinese control all aspects of the internet in their geographic area and can at once redirect to an approved search engine for domestic consumption(read the "Great Firewall of China").

Yahoo et all carry news articles. Certain articles at the time the the PRC is holding their 5 year plan meeting is obviously pandemic to their political issues.

The decision to give the Dalai Lama a medal was a political decision, taken at the exact time the heirarchy in China are meeting. A similar political decision was taken when Bush warned about WWIII over Iranian nuclear aspirations at the same time that Putin was meeting Ahmadinejad.

It's all politics. A complete non issue. Let's concentrate on marketing instead.
