I found a new way to Make Money
I get a lot of IMs on AIM and MSN from people who visited my site.

Lately I been putting this message up and so far I have made 190 dollars

If you wish to continue to remain on my buddy list Press 1, if not Pess 2
99.99% of the time they press 1

    then I put
To remain on my buddy list will cost you 19.95 a month and includes 2 hours a week of conversation. Or you can get the he is just on my buddy list plan which is 9.95 a month and are guranted 10 minutes of conversation a week. How do you wisht to pay? Press 1 for PayPal or Press 2 for Google Checkout

And it has worked. Most people do the 9.95 though.

What happens when you get to 1000 people who have paid $9.95 and you now have to spend 24 hr/day on IM with them? It would only take 84 people at $19.95 to reach 24 hrs/day.

That's what multi-tasking is for! just carry more than one IM conversation at once.

    You can always outsource it.

I don't know, but I have to pay most of my friends to talk to me.

Mike, why don't you create a "HardwareGeek (or whatever you call your site) Computer Help (or whatever service you render) [Club or other type of word that would suggest membership] Package" and people can subscribe to that -- then it would be easy to allocate the work among a number of people so that you could be free to go out on dates on Saturday nights without guilt

Make it look like the people are really getting a deal with the package.
Include the services you already include and embroider a little, say that they'll get free e-mail updates (that's just another way of creating an opted-in e-mail list for you, but instead of you begging people to join an e-mail list you've just made it into a benefit).
If you send out e-mails, send out at least one tip a month about whatever topic it is that people are searching your advice in order to get info/answers.

On the other hand, there's a plus side to giving out answers to information requested of you for free [i.e. over a blog or forum or even within an opted-in e-mail newsletter] because if you are doing a service for free no one can pin you down plus answering questions over your blog increases the quality of your blog [just refer to people by first name or nick name or code name only for privacy and to just protect yourself-- otherwise involvement can become a regret]. The benefit from this option is that people don't have to subscribe (something more and more people are reluctant to do), they can send in a question whenever they have one and you can provide a CGI form or some type of form where they can type in questions that will go straight to you or to co-authors who handle the questions.

Good luck with whatever you do. If you have a lead run with it

Not even that much. It's $19.95 a month, which (if you count as exactly 4 weeks) comes to 8 hours of talking for $19.95. His time is worth about $2.50 an hour.

Who knows what he is talking about, but if it is computer tech support... many people might find that to be a bargain.
I forgot what I was doing.

And if he could spread the work among a few other key people with similar backgrounds, they could make a profit in volume from that bargain.

So far most of the convos that have been paid for, only lasted 10 minutes or so and never again and they set up recurring so maybe I'll get another months worth who knows.
