New merchant seeking advice on banner sizes
    Hello all,

I'm a new merchant just getting my SAS program underway (a great new baby dvd called That Baby DVD. I've got a quick question for you all. I'm sure I'll have more over the weekend!

What sizes of creative do you like to have available? The Internet Advertising Bureau has some recommended standard sizes here, but it would be great if you could help me narrow down this list further to the ones that you use most often.

Any other tips on formats, file sizes, etc. for creative would be appreciated.

Looking forward to offering those of you that have baby/parenting related sites a great new offer to promote!

    Rob

I think there are dozens of posts here on that subject but here is one I found using the search feature:

    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread...t=banner+sizes

And this one (it's a poll where members actually voted for their favorite and most used sizes):

The previous posts referenced all seem to miss the 728x90 leader boards. This is what Google and ABW use. If I were designing banners, I would make sure I had the Google Adsense Banner sizes covered. A lot of people design their sites around google these days. Most people's screens are big, so the leader board works better than a 468x60.

You have to pay ABW and Google to host 728x90 leader boards. If affiliates need them and you have done a good job providing contact information they will request them.

More sizes the better, but you can always go with fewer and then let the affiliates ask for what they want. And yes, this topic seems to come up once a month. Is it the way new merchants try to get some attention?

These are the usual ones and the sizes I just ordered for our shower curtain merchant soon.

    468x60, 120x240, 120x90, 120x60, 88x31, 125x125, 234x60, 120x600, 728x90

You can follow the adsense ad formats too which have all good size ideas, even for the new videos.

Thanks everyone. That was helpful. Sorry for not reading through the forums more thoroughly before posting.
