    2.2 million visitors per minute
^^ That's the volume of traffic that Akamai is reporting for retail websites in North America tonight...

Is anyone else enjoying this holiday shopping season (as an affiliate or merchant, I mean)? It's showtime!

The chart at the bottom of http://www.akamai.com/html/technolog...ail/index.html shows how traffic has increased over the last few weeks.

I'm not greedy. I'd be very happy with 1% of this action. Sales have been up nicely for the entire weekend. I hope they keep ramping throughout the week.

I would LOVE 2.2 million visitors per minute. Then again, I'd also love to have the infrastructure in place to handle it :P

They are talking about all retail shoppers. Not one place can take that amount of traffic in one place. Google has datacenters all over so it can take the search queries it gets.

That's about the volume my sites are getting. I wonder what the rest of the internet is doing for traffic?? LOL

Kidding aside, we are seeing a sharp increase in visits and sales on our jewelry site, which stands to reason. Let's all have a big hitter holiday season!!

The fun is already starting - so get the coffee and no dose out. It's party time. ;-)

I think they detoured past my little side street.

And took any other bypassers with them.

    mattressanswerman,

    You're still greedy!

I would just have settled for a just a lousy a million visitors per this 2007 year!

But that's ok, I will just retire with my 10 million cash on 08', you can keep all the visitors you can get!
