eXTReMe Tracker provides very good information without the use of cookies.
The potential "problem" is that others can read your stats (but you can create as many different trackers as you want to mix and match so that no one can figure you out *Lol*)
or if you are willing to subscribe (i.e. pay) there's an option for that.

Check out what information you can get for free:
    http://extremetracking.com/?home
Considering the fact that it's a free service, the information is very helpful plus their uptime is very good.

I'm interested in other options ABW members might suggest.

I hope you find a satisfactory tracking service

Most hosts that offer cpanel, will have AWstats, which is what I use, but then again nothing beats raw log files. I just paste mine into an Excel spreadsheet and look at all the goodies in there..

Does awstats have recent keywords? If so, I don't see it on mine. my site's log files would never fit in excel.

It has all of your SE-referred keywords under the Traffic Sources > Search Engines > [choice of your SE] -- all sorted by the number of hits. What difference would "last" ones make? Google Analytics is one of the best free metrics tools out there.

I use google analytics, awstat & the inhouse server statistics. THere are websites where I use all 3 in order to get the most accurate information.

I used to use Extreme Tracking, but you can only get recent referrers and too limited data, if you compare it with Analytics. You can select the current date in Analytics, and you will get all the keywords of the current day, why bother for recent keywords?

I used Awstats and a server-side heatmap generator so I can see where people are clicking.

You can also try statcounter.com, its hidden and free just like analytics, and it can give you all the recent visitor/keyword information you want!

SiteStats.com and Google analytics are kind of the same thing. You probably didnt give enough time in poking around GA because it is a VERY powerful tool. Not only does it show the keywords that were used to go on your landing page, but it shows a lot more info like how long they were on your site for, if they abandoned the cart.... etc..
