    For ebay newbies: how to insert SID tracking codes in Flex destination tool...
    I have searched for this info and didn't find it on ABW so I figured I would post it for ebay newbies:

    rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?SID=KEYWORD&AID=5463217&PID=XXXXXX&loc=http%3A//search.ebay.com/search/search.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.com%252Fws%252F%26krd%3D1%26from%3DR8%26MfcISAPICommand%3DGetResult%26ht%3D1%26SortProperty%3DMetaEndSort%26query%3DKEYWORD

    For example, if you’re trying to create a link for an imaginary affiliate (PID 00000) searching for “Nike Air Max”, you would modify the code as shown below:

    » Without SID Tracking:

    rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?&AID=5463217&PID=00000&loc=http%3A//search.ebay.com/search/search.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.com%252Fws%252F%26krd%3D1%26from%3DR8%26MfcISAPICommand%3DGetResult%26ht%3D1%26SortProperty%3DMetaEndSort%26query%3DNike+Air+Max

    » With SID Tracking (code 'Nike'):

    rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?SID=NIKE&AID=5463217&PID=00000&loc=http%3A//search.ebay.com/search/search.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.com%252Fws%252F%26krd%3D1%26from%3DR8%26MfcISAPICommand%3DGetResult%26ht%3D1%26SortProperty%3DMetaEndSort%26query%3DNike+Air+Max

    Thanks GOCOLTS, that's good to know. So all we would have to do is add the sid code after the question mark and not touch anything else in the code?

    rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?SID=NIKE&AID=5463217&PID=00000

    An FYI, Sid's should be encoded if there are spaces or other characters that need it. To avoid the entire need for it I use a mix of upper and lower case to easily read them, for example.....

    SID=FromSomeAffiliatePage

    How strange that they provide a place in the Editor Kit to include an SID, but they don't for the Flexible Destination Tool. Also, as Packy noted, all you "have to do is add the sid code after the question mark and not touch anything else in the code." This is true of all CJ links, not just eBay.

    The cool thing about both these tools is that once you set a page up for one set of search results, you can just copy and paste them into another page, and use search and replace to change the search terms. For example, if you have a page searching for Green Widgets, and you want to make a page for Orange Widgets, all you have to do is Search & Replace 'Green' with 'Orange'. This includes your SID if you've described it accordingly.

    While we're talking about useful tools, I always had a hard time finding the Using Search Commands page, until I finally bookmarked it. This page is an excellent reference for learning how to hone your search terms to get just the results you want.

    Would replacing the spaces with + sign track ok? I think that's what the CJ interface does when I add a spaced sid.

    SID=From+Some+Affiliate+Page

    Tracy, I just bookmarked that page also, Thanks

    I would guess that would work, but I never tried it. Unless someone comes along and confirms plus signs work, I'd test it first.

    I tried using %20 instead of spaces when I first started this according to the instructions provided at the time, but sometimes it produced some really screwed up results in the SID column of reports, so I just completely gave up on dividing with spaces and I now only do what Bobby does, using upper & lower case to breakup words. Sometimes you have to throw away the instructions and do what works.

    For each section of my site, I start with the main word followed by the variables, like for widgets, the sid for different pages might be:

    WidgetsSquareBlue
    WidgetsSquareRed
    WidgetsRoundYellow

    That way, when I get my reports I can sort on the SID and have the different sections of my site group together.

    I'll show some ignorance here, how do you add this to a page? I tried using a php include() but it gives me errors.
