If you got a lot of bottles, which one is correct?

"bottles are" is the correct answer. "Are" is the plural. "Is" is singular. Although, "make sure no bottles are empty" isn't the most structured sentence in the world and would have most likely received a huge red line through it from my English Composition teacher.

Make sure (that) no bottle is empty.
Make sure (that) no bottles are empty.

Are both correct. The first is a singular form, the second is plural.

You should make sure that none of the beer bottles are empty.

I'd use "ensure" rather than "make sure".

The logic is twisted though.. I'd say that "ensure all bottles are full" or "ensure that all bottle contain something" is easier to understand.

    Just to be pedantic..

It should be "the data are.." but people always seem to say "the data is.." which is strictly incorrect. The singular of "data" is "datum". Also "media/medium" (as in newspapers, TV) suffers a similar fate. Also there's aquarium/aquaria/aquarium, cactus/cacti/cactuses, criteria/criterion.

Ensure the aquaria are not filled with cacti.

"Make sure no bottles are empty"

    Easy one...

English is my second language and I make a lot of mistakes when I write here (spelling and grammar).

However, I noticed, that even the people with english as their first language post messages here which are not really error free .

Well.. not everybody had an "A" in "English" .

So be it. As long as we perfectly understand and misunderstand each other here hehe.

Egg yolk is yellow would be the answer.

    Or

    Egg white is white.
