Depending on the age of your daughter, I've seen a nice one at Discovery.

Oregon Scientific has something that may be interesting, if you can find one in stock

I don't know the specifics, but I was going to suggest an interactive one like the one isellstuff recommended. I know I've seen them in stores. If she is into games, the interactive games/features could make learning fun. I think some of them speak random countries and have you find them as quick as you can, for instance.
Following everyone else is a GREAT way to become average.

In my "former life" as a geography teacher I, of course, had several globes in my classroom. The most sought after ones by the students, however, were two unique globes.
One was made of a heavy vinyl and inflatable (like a beach ball). It actually had a stand that allowed it to spin (a'la a traditional globe) but it could be removed and tossed around as in bean-bag-toss teaching activities. Ex: catch the ball (globe) and name the continent or ocean under each hand.
The other was a hard-surface globe that had a texture for writing on with chalk. The only markings on the surface were the outlines of the continents. Again, there are a lot of educational activities that can be used with this globe.
Unfortunately I have no idea where to find them any more. But, I would suggest visiting a Discovery Store, if you are near one. Traditional globes are fine for youngsters, but truly interactive ones are great for elementary school children.
It is astounding to realize that over half of the high school graduates in the United States today can't read a map or even name the seven continents.
Thanks to all for your suggestions, for inquiring minds, the winner was:
