I try to visit Clickz at least once a week. Today noticed that they dropped Affiliate Marketing from their left side main menu and looks like they added Paid Search Strategies instead.

What does this mean? Is AM no longer that important to advertisers? Was it a mistake, temporary or an oversight? Maybe there was not enough interest in the topic? This seems very odd to me. You can only find AM articles now in the achives. What do you think about this???

    Linda,

If you'd been following news here at ABW you wouldn't be asking. To put it simply, the author who used to write the AM articles is, well... say... no longer there for certain reasons

BTW I don't think I ever gave you an offical hi Hi Linda!

Thanks Akiva and a warm & personal HI back to you. (Love your signature line!)

Well sometimes I feel like I live on ABW and think I catch all the good posts but must have missed the ones about Clickz. Just did a search and got some of the background buzz.

I still think it looks bad for affiliate marketing not to be represented there.
Maybe one of the Gurus on this board should start writing for Clickz!!!

I wrote for ClickZ Aff Marketing for about 6 months last year with Declan Dunn.

I left to go write at Builder.com, then was notified a month or two later that they were discontinuing the Aff Marketing section.

I think the official reason was that the "topics and discussion were similar to other columns, so they combined them together". I guess they meant SEO and Email marketing.

Anyway, I don't know what really happened, or what Declan is doing now either. He was a good writer too.

Hell yea! I've seen the trend of affiliatemaketing articles going downhill and towards a blatant "yea so" attitude against affiliates since Jimbo (AffiliateMakeover.com) left! I will refrain from commenting on the articles by Declan currently, but I ain't a happy camper about them either. ClickZ is a sell out to Gator and other Dupers and parasites, they don't give a flying F about Affiliate marketing or the issues we face.

For all of us ... it's better that they "finally" demonstrated their true colors!

I have not taken the time to read the articles at Clickz, and I am not sure what the beef with Declan currently is. I can say, however, that when I was in a car accident a few years back and was scheduled to speak at an affiliate seminar, that Declan was kind enough to do two sessions to cover for me and provide those who had already paid with a full schedule.

You can rest assure that I'm not being recruited as a contributor to Clickz.....

"I think Mike's "Well Thought Out" rants would go over big.."

I think their major sponsoring advertisers would have a real hissy on my pro-consumer adjenda. They fail to see the shopper still rules the mouse regardless of how many Ads you super glue to their CRT.

    Mike & Charlie ...

If they won't adopt and feed a bird ..flip them one! BBQ some Gator and remember to flush WhenU..

I'm sure Declann'll step up for a THIRD run at any seminar you want. I'm sure he made "contact$" through his kind gestures. But my beef is over 6 years old now (wow) and he was tied in with "someone" who can no longer use his own name~!
