Dave changed our New Year's Eve plans
We had great plans for eating junk food in front of the TV and stripping the rest of the wallpaper in the foyer tonight, but.....

Dave fell this morning and broke his hip. They put 3 screws in it late this afternoon and he will be in the hospital for a few days and then trying to deal with a walker for several weeks after that.

Someday this will be a funny family story about a man and his dog and a baby squirrel and some wet slick leaves. Tonight it's just me juggling 2 cell phones, 6 kids all calling and texting at the same time and a dog that thinks Dad must still be out in the backyard.

Akkkkkkkkkk - Judi, you need to keep Dave in a hermetically sealed cave from no on. LOL - Poor guy, I'll bet he's not feeling at all festive. :-( Try to stay sane and yes, you will laugh about this next year this time.

Tell Dave we're all sending those special ABW healing vibes. They work. :-)
    Peace,

Awhhhh I'm really sorry for both you and Dave Definitely not a very good way to end the year. The lengths some people will go to get out of stripping wallpaper. lol Definitely am not making fun of the situation.

Really do hope he's feeling better very soon. Hopefully he will have gotten all boo boos out of his system this year and really do hope 2008 is a VERY healthy year for both him and you. Hope he has a very quick recovery and is up and moving about very soon. Big hug for you, too. Hope 2008 is soooooo good for both of you that when ya look back you will be able to laugh at it.

Ok, tell Dave that he's not allowed to change your plans ever again. Also, tell him to get better soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

Not a good way to start out 2008... make sure the rest of it is MUCH better!

    Healing vibes headed your way.

Thanks, guys! Everyone in the family knows that Dave will go to any lengths not to have to do chores, but I think this one might just teach him to pay attention. It could have been so much worse in so many ways. He's in for some slow careful rehab - but first we'll just get through the next few days.

In our family, we always laugh first. I made the first phone call to the oldest son and asked him to tell everyone else except Grandma. She did not need to hear broken and hip in the same sentence. So the rest of the kids get this: Dad takes on baby squirrel. xray film at 11. He followed up right away with real details, but it's hard to get any serious sympathy in that crowd.

Hey Judi, I hope Dave has learned his lesson and will stop his extravagant chore-avoidance tactics immediately. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

    Tough luck there Judi. Ouch!

Please send on our best wishes to Dave, and tell him we hope he gets well soon. That must be no fun at all, so hopefully his recovery will be swift, and you will put 2007 behind you as "The year of living dangerously".

At least Dave will start out 2008 in a (dry-non-slip) clean slate!

I hope Dave heals quickly! I'm sure he is glad he has you to care for him.

I love that you try to find whatever humor you can, even in tough situations. It just shows how you both look on the sunny side. Maybe next year you could find a little baby squirrel stuffed animal to present to him as a New Year's gift.

I'm thinking that the dancing will have to hold until August in Boston. Ouch! He called a few minutes ago and said they were letting him come home today - he avoided the rehab facility by proving he could work his way out of bed and get that walker going in the right direction.

He's anxious for everyone to know he appreciates the warm wishes and good vibes and that he doesn't plan to let this get him down. He has a lot of work ahead of him to get completely mobile again, but he can paste links and write copy on his laptop.

I know just the place to find the stuffed squirrel. Thanks for the idea!

Oh, wow, Judy - so sorry to hear about the fall. I certainly wish Dave a speedy recovery...not that he needs to get back to those chores, but because it is a bummer to be in recovery mode.

Fortunately, business is fairly easy to conduct with a laptop, which is yet another cool thing about this thing we call affiliate marketing.

Best wishes to you and Dave.

    Happy New Year Judy!

Sounds like it was an interesting day. We hope Dave has a smooth recovery.

What do they do in a hospital for New Year's eve?

Oh Judi, I am so sorry! You both are very strong and you will pull through it no problem. My grampa was driving about 2 weeks after his second broken him ... You can do it!!! (think of that cheezy guy in all of those Adam Sandler movies .. Rob Schneider or something)

Best of luck in the healing process and just think about all the time Dave will have for the next few weeks of plotting his revenge on the squirrels!!

Judi, Judi, Judi.... You have your hands full again I see.

DAVE! DAVE! DAVE! You've been through enough, man. You need to stop tempting fate!!!

Here you both probably thought the move from the cold icy climate to the warmth of Akransas would keep this kind of thing from happening I bet.

Get Dave up and running by Affiliate Summit so we can spend some time together.

Dave and I always enjoy talking about our similar mutal medical histories. But Dave, I'm not ready to share this one with you!!!

You both are in my prayers and thoughts. Let me know if there is anything I can do.

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful thoughts. I managed to escape the hospital this afternoon with my walker! Yes Virginia, that contraption is a walker! Appears I am going to have to use it for a couple of months or so. The best news was that the break was not severe and it could be pinned fairly simply, without using a plate. Guess this is Gods way of saying that I need some time in the chair working on sites.

    Again, THANKS Everyone!

Yeah and the personnel in there will kill you. LOL

Glad you're home and in good spirits Dave. The rest you're just gonna have to deal with.

Your sites are gonna see a boon in about 6 months with all the extra TLC you'll be able to give them. :-) (There's advantages to everything LOL)

Take care of each other. Judy needs some TLC, too.
