Question Levee Breaks in Nevada, 3,500 Trapped
FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) - A canal breach early Saturday pouring 3 feet of freezing water into about 800 homes and trapped about 3,500 people, authorities said.

A 30-foot wide section of the Truckee Canal broke shortly before 5 a.m., sending a wave of water rushing into the desert town on the eastern side of the Sierra near Reno, officials said.

The question for affiliates is " Did Amazon get hit?

One of the first companies to move its major operation to Nevada was Amazon.com. The on-line bookstore giant chose the sleepy town of Fernley to build its warehouse. Overnight, Fernley went from a small agricultural community to riding the dot.com roller coaster.

Wow! We were supposed to be there today!!

CNN said Lake Tahoe was getting 6' of snow - we said cool, let's go.

Then they changed it to 10' and I had images of being stuck at Caesars, either paying $500 a night 'till we could get out or worse... what happens if they're sold out yet we can't leave??

So we cancelled and went up to the wussy local snow
