I have been lurking here for some time now. Soaking up the knowledge so freely shared by all of you.

It being time to post a question, I thought to update my profile. Add a snappy sig line. While thinking of the subject of my sig, I found one of lifes real truisms.

The older you get, the more of your heros go where all old hero's go.

My now gone heros have included my Father, Grandfather, one uncle, one brother, John Wayne, Jack Webb (Joe Friday on Dragnet), Roy Rogers, Mickey Mantle, etc.

A recently nominated hero, George Lucas (Starwars), continues to hang in there.

Since I have so few heros left, and since a hero is someone you look up to, ask questions of, respect, and count on, I need to fill some spots.

I hereby nominate all of you to my new hero list.

I realize that it will be tough for you to fill the shoes of some of the departed heros, but I know you can do it.

    My thanks to you all.

    Frank

Welcome to ABW. Its 4AM so i can't tell if you're serious or not, George Lucas and affiliate marketers being heroes and all. But welcome anyway.

Nelson Mandela. Emergency services. Doctors and nurses. The passengers on Flight 93. That Chinese guy standing in front of a column of tanks. True heroes are the ones who are almost stupidly stubborn and selfless.

Mandela is my number one though.. a man who suffered so much injustice and cruelty and who was able to forgive those who did it and work constructively for a better future rather than exacting revenge.

Hey Dynamoo - Mandela's top of my list, too. Have you read his autobiography? Extraordinary that there's not one ounce of bitterness in any of the pages.

Thanks to all of you for the welcome.

I agree with the nomination of Mr. Mandella.
And, all of the other unknown hero(s).

Off topic, but important to me...if you have time to check my questions re site concept in the Newbie FAQ section, I would appreciate it.
