    Webmerge tags and Javascript
    Hello,

    I'm trying to use a Webmerge tag within a Javascript command. The relevant line in my template looks like this:

    <a href= 'javascript:window.location="mail"+"to:"+"[WM-Field:Username]"+"@"+"indiana"+"."+"edu"'>

    When I run Webmerge, it doesn't put anything in place of the WM tag; it just leaves an empty set of quotes. Instead, it's merging the contents of the Username field in place of the next Webmerge tag in the document.

    Does anyone know if it's even possible to use a WM tag within Javascript? If so, do I need to be escaping the tag in some way?

    Thanks,
    Kris

    WebMerge should never alter anything in a template outside of WebMerge tags. From your description it's not clear what it's doing: you wrote that it puts in empty quotes, then later noted that it's replacing the WM tag, which sounds like what we'd expect.

    Could I trouble you to post the result WebMerge is generating so I can see it directly?

    Well, I don't know what I did, but as I was generating a file to send to you the problem appeared to fix itself. Maybe I had a stray character in there somewhere. Thanks anyway for your quick response!
