This is related to dropping of Findwhat.com...

I was just checking my logs. I never really looked closely at this, but have noticed it for a very long time as something of a curiosity. Most visitors I get from findwhat have a browser with "Hotbar" listed in it. I looked it up online and found this:

    http://www.thundercloud.net/help/hotbar-is-spyware.htm

I have been paying thousands of dollars for B.S. clicks! No wonder I have not make any stinking money!

I think some other PPC engines like kanoodle also count hotbar among their "partners". So findwhat may not be the only one in that boat.

Also Findwhat support sucks. My listing is still on hold and it's been almost a year. and there traffic was worthless before that.

All PPCSE's are in cahoots with the B-a-HO's trying and slezzy deal to drain the keyword bid accounts.

Every PPCSE has "dubious" syndication partners and because of that, for many of them, the quality has slid.

Searched for Overstock on Google and a savenow window with findwhat listings in it, I clicked the first one and then proceeded to click on their link to see what would happen ....

I can say that they DESERVE what happened!

It figues that this would happen on Overstock, since they just adore the parasites...

What are the chances of a Overstock referral cookie not getting overwritten in the first 24 hours?

Well, this certainly has its element of humor.

Oh I just love that particular popup for Whenu...especially when it shows up on the front page of my shopping cart after someone has put in an item.

As far as findwhat and hotbar. Many if not most of the PPSE use this type of source to generate traffic. Hotbar is not the only vechile used. It's just that you can identify them in your logs because of the hotbar notation in the user agent. Of course that shows all the time. Doesn't mean that particular click came from hotbar. If your visitor did a direct type in, you would still see the hotbar notation in user agent.

But it does make for some worthless traffic.
