CSN Stores New Agreement - Anti Coupon
Some excerpts from their new agreement.

"Affiliates sites that rank in the first two pages of any SE organic search for the terms CSN Stores Coupon, CSN Baby Coupon, or any variation of our niche stores URLís with coupon or deal included in the keyword, are subject to a different commission structure. This is also the case for those found on the first two pages of paid search"

"Last referrer in the click stream sales: These sales will be limited to a 2% commission"

"Last referrer sales are destroying our programís bottom line. These sales are simply customers looking for a coupon. At this point in the customerís buying cycle they are ready to purchase the item that they have in the shopping cart. They see that we have a promo code box and go searching for a coupon for that product."

It seems the easiest thing to do would have been remove the promo code box seeing as they state they do not have coupons.

I also do not see why we are being penalized. The last referral is the one that closes the sale. Any referral before that did not make the sale.

"These coupons do not add value because the customer is already getting free shipping and the same price that is advertised on our site."

If a customer has to leave your site to find out you have free shipping then you are not doing a good enough job of letting the customer know you have free shipping.

If merchants don't want to attract couponers or customers looking to score a coupon, they shouldn't have a coupon prompt at check out.

This is what provokes the customer, ready to buy at the posted price, to go in search of a coupon, effectively killing the sale for the original affiliate and hurting CSN's price point.

I've heard: "it's not easy to find a shopping cart without a coupon prompt at checkout" - Uhmmmmm - too bad. I think it makes sense to find one or moderate the one with a prompt. And why aren't shopping carts making one without it?!!

Meanwhile, there's another thread here where Brent explained all this last week.

Seems like trying to sew on a button with a sledgehammer and a railroad spike.
There must an easier way to address this situation. Not that it matters to me tho.
