Many months ago, we were told an IBS datafeed with literally thousands of products was in the works. In reality, the SAS datafeed shows around 400 products in the datafeed, and the PopShops version is 377 -- in both cases that's DOWN from the 700+ products in the feed a year or so ago.

As for odd characters or whatever that were plaguing the feed for so long, they seem to be cleaned up some in PopShops. I haven't really looked at the SAS feed, so I'm not sure there. Even a lot of the repeated typos or missing spaces between words seem to be gone or at least very infrequent -- so that's progress.

But will anything really ever happen to increase the size of this feed? And why the decline in size? Any real info about all this?

The reason for the measured product additions to the datafeed is a direct result of the merger between IBS and STL. They are still trying to find a way of integrating more products from both sides of the company. I am sorry its taking so long, but were looking at potentially adding thousands of new products and this is a very long process.

I just tried to update my site with the IBS feed and wasted a couple of hours again. I wish I could bill the people that build this feeds for all the time I've wasted.

I tried the latest version dated 5/23/2008 and it's trash. Like Gary said it's dropped from over 600 lines to around 400, and the categories are gone. They have also added a bunch of gibberish at the bottom that has nothing to do with a feed:
