I live in Tampa and as an affiliate marketer, I have to congratulate Alan from Dealtaker.com on his partnership with Media General, owners of the Tampa Tribune and our local NBC station.

I see Dealtaker commercials all the time and I see banners on tbo.com everyday. This is a major deal for the newspaper industry as they struggle to figure out how to make money online. Subscriber numbers are dropping and local companies aren't buying the online space available.

So for them to see the value in buying an established coupon site and driving their viewers and readers to the site, is awesome. Media General owns newspapers and tv stations from Florida to Virginia.

Alan told me last month, he's very happy with the rush of traffic. I think we'll see some more coupon sites being bought or partnered with local media. It makes sense.

What do you think?

Our local TV station is one of the highest ranked sites locally. Many people look there for classified ads or services. I have seen many of my local products sold there as well. would be nice if affiliates could have a crack at it.

I found this a little interesting. Not sure what to make of it. I don't think the first name "Alan" is correct...

That's an interesting report - I hadn't seen or heard of that before.

Alan is my contact at Dealtaker. Neal Rapoport is the founder.

Seymour, Unfortunately, anyone can write anything about anyone on there, and ripoffreport is not a credible source of information.

Right, if I recall correctly, their model is to charge companies to remove the posts, factual or not. I'm pretty sure ROR has many suits and investigations.

Note: I'm only commenting on RipOffReport.

Yes that is very true. Many things on the internet are not credible.
