Hi everyone,
Happy October. Halloween is a favorite holiday of mine and to celebrate you can see my current avatar. The avatar is not Marilyn Manson, it's me Here I am in all my glory: So that you can appreciate the effort that goes into the Halloween costume photo, check me out in a picture from last year's ad:tech with Loxly in contrast: http://www.nightfireproductions.com/...F0804.JPG.html I'd like to give big thanks to Loxly for hosting that picture because I was able to send the url to a long-lost, long-distant friend of mine [his computer is set not to accept attachments in e-mail] and we've become closer together thanks to the picture -- plus we're already bickering so it seems like old times

That one is a particular favorite because not only did I achieve a total almost "reconstruction" of my face just with theatrical make-up (I'm not wearing a mask) I also achieved a somewhat androgynous look. I think I always loved the creativity of Halloween -- it's the one time I can really let my imagination roam. I loved dressing up to become someone I usually was not plus I always admired the way my Father could carve a pumpkin/Jack-O-Lantern. The carving of the pumpkin was a scary yet fun holiday ritual I had with my Father (he'd carved the pumpkin and then would make ghoulish noises that would scare me). I was always diminutive and never had the ability to scare anyone but my ghoulish looks gave me a power I didn't ordinarily have and suddenly I become the cynosure of all eyes. I wanted people to notice me in costume when I used to go trick-or-treating, the candy was secondary. At a very basic subconscious primeval level, I think television influenced the way I would start to view of female sexual attractiveness. Carolyn Jones as Morticia, Yvonne De Carlo as Lilly Munster, Elizabeth Montgomery in Bewitched, and Barbara Eden in I Dream of Jeannie were all "sexual icons" whose sexuality had a mystical element. I could identify with blonds like Montgomery and Eden because I was a natural blond and many women in my family were blond but I had a fascination with jet black hair and every wig I have ever owned (regardless of quality or lack of quality) has been jet black. I'm actually a bit squeamish, I don't like blood, I am neither sadistic nor masochistic but the Goth style of dressing turns me on. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to dress as a female vampire; the only times I didn't dress this way on Halloween were the times when my parents were too busy to take me to Woolworths on time to get a decent Halloween costume Once neighbors sold black diaphanous cloth remnants at a yard sale -- buying that cloth so that I could incorporate that into a costume was a highlight of my early pre-teen/teen years. |

I guess the next logical question would be: How well have you learned to play your Fender DG8 and when can we expect a YouTube vid with you in full costume playing Crazy Train?
