Alright, sorry it took me forever to get these posted, but as you can imagine, it has been absolutely crazy around here!

Here's the story, and then some pics.

So my water broke Tuesday morning sometime around 4 am (at least I was hoping it was my water .. lol). I called the doctor about an hour later, and met her at her office before they opened to confirm that it was indeed my water. Thankfully (or I would have been crazy embarrassed) it was! So we were sent straight to the hospital.

I wasn't having any contractions, so about an hour or so after we got to the hospital, they start me on Oxycontin to induce labor. The contractions came on fairly quickly and they gradually turned it up as the day went on. I tried my hardest to not have an epidural this time, and made it all the way to 6 centimeters (I was 2 when we got to the hospital) before I asked for the epidural (in tears no less .. lol).

They had to give me a rather big dose to stop the pain as I was primarily having back labor! The doc who gave me the epidural told me to let him know if the pain started getting bad again or the epidural was wearing off and he would come back and turn it up.

I felt pretty good for a little while, and then it started wearing off at about 6 pm, and all of the pain was in my back. The bad thing was, the doc that gave me the epidural was in a c-section and couldn't come turn it up, so I gave birth to Baby Asher feeling just about all of it!!

Anywho, Asher was having a rough time all day. His heart rate kept dipping, and when I started pushing, it was getting really low. They called in the NICU team just in case. When he came out he was extremely tangled in his cord, and his cord had a huge knot in it!! It was no wonder he was having such a difficult time.

He is our little miracle baby!!
