Japanese scientists will have bred a new "super-tuna" within a decade that will be stronger, more resistant to disease and taste better than the bluefin presently in the oceans.

Story

Hope they can bred a super-escargot soon.

They need stronger tuna to fight the Nomura’s jellyfish invasion, some up to 450 pounds - http://www.pinktentacle.com/2009/07/japan-fears-massive-jellyfish-invasion-this-year/

Does it wear a cape and a mask underwater?

I wonder how many kids will dress as super tuna for Halloween next year?

It could ruin the toro as, if I am not mistaken, toro is the fattier part of the tuna. So if they were making a fish that had less fat, and thus stronger, then the toro would be leaner and not as tasty.

Not sure I trust the Japanese with anything fish related after seeing The Cove: http://festival.sundance.org/2009/fi...nts/films/cove

They harvest over 20k dolphins and feed it as whale meat to school children.

@MattMcWilliams - if we carry a super tuna Halloween costume - I'll be sure to let you all know! lol

@Chuck - The Cove just arrived (Netflix). I'm actually terrified of whales but that doesn't mean we should slaughter them.
