There are few things more harmful to the human spirit than a betrayal of trust. It kills something sacred inside us when we find out. Merchants who are caught doing this should be metaphorically spit and roasted alive not just because of the money but for the damage they do to the spirits of those they betray.

I'm with you SSanf on this. A betrayal of trust, in business or life in general, can be a real kick in the teeth.
I for one don't want to be cynical and trust only that the worst aspects of human nature. Perhaps a little naive, but I try to put a postive spin on every setback I encounter.  "Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes." |
