How long should I wait for my first sale?
I have been an affiliate for about a month now and have sent them 120 clicks or so in that period. But, still no commissions yet. It's quite depressing as I can't see my hard work pay-off and I know with adsense 120 clicks is about $30 so I am wondering should i wait?? or change?? After how mnay clicks did you guys get your first sales? Does it take a while to register your sales? I've heard rumours about cj not reporting sales as well as it should, is this the case here? Many Thanks, Ski-Time |

Well, I hate to tell you, but 120 clicks without a sale is not terribly unusual, although it's not a good indicator. Typically, you are looking at making anywhere from $2 up to $30 for each 100 clicks. Your site is new so the traffic is not there but keep working at it - develop good content - this will pay off in the long run. I use adsense in any area that does not convert well for me with regular links alone.

Ski,
I don't remember exactly how long it took me to get my first sale and I don't get that many.. So far today i've got about 15 clicks to them without a sale. The way I look at it is I've budgeted some space/money for them this holiday season so I'm ok with sitting and waiting until after the first of the year.. Depending on your site you may want to rotate with others and see if you get better results.. Patience is the key here.. No getting rich quick.. |

These guys are a good coverting merchant for me, I think a little more patience is warranted. I can think of some discussions here where other merchants were getting ten-times that many clicks without sales - so don't sweat it.

Hi ST and welcome to ABW!
Patience is the key of AM like anyother business. Dont give up so soon, people have waited and waited for hundreds of clicks before they started to make some money. AM does take some time, be patient and keep reading and researching I am sure you'll reach there and then come to ABW and say "Hey guys I made my first sale!". Best of Luck!

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the quick replys. I thought my 120 clicks in a month made me a major player but maybe not. I will keep trying until 24th of December I guess. Which is when the peak season for buying skis online finishes?? I think. By then I should have around 250-300 click throughs and should be a fair indicator of how well my site converts visitors to sales. I'm just hoping everyday that the next time I log into cj.com that ski-time will have some sales..... and I can post a happy message on this board! Anyway, till then, I'll be reading this board, and checking my cj stats. Later, Ski-Time |
