Now, my head is spinning from some of the spin I'm reading.
But here is my question: My sites contain a mixture of content (very original) and banner and text ads for indies and network advertisers. Does your company or product or users of the product(s) cause in any way a visitor to my site to see any alternate link or alternate advertising when using anything on my site?

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>How much would a four minute ad during the superbowl cost? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
This Page says that in 2003 90 million people watched the superbowl. Advertisers paid $2m for an ad. That is about 2/90 = 0.0222... Superbowl advertisers are paying about two pennies per viewer. I suspect that this is substantially less than what most web sites end up paying to aquire and distribute pages to viewers. The big difference between small web sites and superbowl is that the latter has enough cash to protect itself. Anyway, your analogy basically breaks down to: "it is okay to take things from the small and weak because they can't beat you up." |

Tommy, you didn't answer my main questions and you know the answer you gave to the one you did answer was no answer at all...
You said you would answer questions, so please do so. I think I've kept my questions polite and would expect that you'd provide answers to match. Thanks Chris

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>If you built a page about the history of blue widgets than the user is obviously interested in blue widgets. If we have a campaign for bluewidgets.com then we would bring up the offer at that time. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Q1 So what you're saying is, That if I was bluewidgets.com and I was advertising on say MSN with a banner to bluewidgets.com it would be equally okay for you to load a pop up for bluewidgets.com. Correct? Q2 And so, a user types in bluewidgets.com into their navbar, then you are saying that it would be equally fair to load a pop up of bluewidgets.com, comparison shopping correct? Assume in both the above that bluewidgets.com is running on an affiliate Network and you are an affiliate of their's. Thanks Chris

Sorry I'm full of questions today.
Q3. Can a Merchant who you are an affiliate of on any network opt to NOT be promoted on the Zango / nCase Software, and if so how would they go about doing this. Like Ebates and SAHS offer for example, whereby a merchant can opt to only be promoted from the affiliates web site. Thank you Chris

Cazzie-
As usually things blew up out of proportion as they normally do in a format such as this. When I said this forum is not for you, I meant, this particular thread. I am simply answering questions, but if your post is simply I will never belive what you say, then this thread is not for you. I am sorry to get caught up in a definition error, you are most certainly valuable on this forum board, but this particular thread is Q and A. I hope this clears up anything that got misconstrued. Tommy 180solutions.com I will work on the answers to the questions tomorrow |

No surprise, Tommy doesn't answer anything he doesn't want to.
Although he did his best sticking with the company line, he did let out several revealing admissions regarding user privacy, overwriting of legitimate affiliate cookies, popping up on other affiliate's sites, and network endorsements of these practices. |

Here ya go:
Nova Like I have said before our software is completely dependent on keywords, so if a keyword matches then we will bring up a campaign in a new browser session. We have found it more effective to deliver a user directly to an ad instead of having them click. Happypoon It has always been a desire for us to voice our concerns and educate people on our software and we’ll be the first to tell you that it did take us a while. Our presence was not promoted by any network. No. No. I cannot go over the technical changes. I cannot share that information. Chez Noir It is impossible for us to deactivate the software on a users computer, that would cause another whole “sypware” thread issue, but we do shutdown that distributor within our network. As I have said before, we provide a straightforward way for users to uninstall the software using conventional add/remove practices. If a user wishes to uninstall the software, then it is definitely their right to be able to do so. Happypoon We don’t target publishers sites, but we do target keywords. We are not competing with happypoon.com, but we are competing for the person looking for “toaster ovens”, which could possibly be on happypoon.com at the time. Happypoon Several new downloadable software programs have been unfortunately lumped into a larger debate over the terms “spyware”, “adware” and others - simply due to the fact that the ideas are so new and innovative. We are simply an application that delivers advertising (sponsored websites in our case) – we don’t collect PII nor ever have (despite unfounded claims to the contrary). With the Utah bill and the FTC hearings going on now we are really looking forward to a broader discussion and education of the market that will follow. The legislation that comes of it will provide the clarity needed in this industry to set us apart from the other companies. BLFH (Ms. B) What you have experienced is a known bug that we are currently working on and it is our full intent to give the user the ability to install/uninstall anything that they want on the machine. Again part of my being here is to provide a resource to this community. If anyone ever has a problem with our software then please feel free to contact me via email directly and I will work with our 24x7 tech support group to make sure you are taken care of. Herb We do not do anything with a person/companies website, but if a keyword matched in our database it could bring up an ad. Chris If you read in your question you said you had a webpage about the history of blue widgets, not bluewidgets.com. In your MSN example, only if you were searching for something on msn about blue widgets would we bring up an ad. If you just had a banner on the homepage it wouldn’t really matter, cause you would probably be doing that on RON. Instead if you were running a targeted banner, blue widgets article on msn, then it is all together possible that the keyword blue widgets would be grabbed by our software. In this instance, from your standpoint you are looking for the most converting traffic (blue widgets article) and from ours it is the search or relevant content about blue widgets. Regarding question 2, what happens when you type in bluewidgets.com on google? You would get a listing of google adwords, presumably by your current affiliates of the bluewidgets.com website. If they click on the offer from one of your affiliates you would then pay them for the sale, but didn’t the user type in bluewidgets.com? Chris When a user approves you into a program they are in essence telling you that you can run them. If they don’t want to run with them, then they don’t approve us. Loxly I am here to answer your questions and threads in forums oftentimes get read into too much. Julian Any specific questions you want addressed? Tommy 180solutions.com |

So how do you feel about the fact that I could be targeting blue widgets and paying for an adwords ad, the user clicks on my adowrds ad, costing me money, and when they get to my targeted page I created for blue widgets, you pop a popup and steal my visitor, not only taking any money I could've made, but also costing me money. Sure would bring a whole new perspective to your "keeping the internet free" statement. Why don't you all get creative and create your own website, bring in your own targeted visitors and generate revenue from your own hard work?

But the issue is, in this case, you are aware of bogus installs, the user is not aware this junk is running on their pcs. So are you saying then. Once the software is installed. The keyword list, the ads to show etc - are hardcoded and never changed? That the client software never phones home for new keywords or ads? If that was true, wouldn't that mean that new advertisers would only get shown on a very small number of installs, and could only grow once that new install is spread, and old advertisers could drop you - yet they would still get their ad shown? Can you please explain this to me? How does your client software get the information of what ads/keywords to show? Thanks Chet |

Who give you a permission to pop your site to any of our sites, did you ask all of us to pop up a new browser for your own gain? If you give better ad, why don't you just use your own website for user to use and look for what ever they are looking for, if you think you provide better advertising? Don't you think they will bookmark your site if you offer better ad than any of us? If the user like what you offer from your OWN SITE, do you think they would look for other sites? So if my domain name is sports.com you will pop a new browser because the sports keywords is triggered? Do you really believe that you can give better ad to users than any other websites? Do you really believe that your method is ethical and not undermining our work that we pay for hosting, domain, time and other expenses? Do you really sleep better knowing how many people your company is undermining and taking advantage of?

Tommy, It seems you are not providing answers to the questions asked but most often providing retoric as a response without even addressing the question.
I appreciate you coming here and stating your desire to clear up confusion regarding your application(s) but your answers in most cases do anything but that for the questions posed. Provide all the rhetoric you like concerning your application, but your failure to really answer questions clearly are only cause for more suspicion. |

I too would like to know how you determine which keywords are on a page.
Also, please feel free to provide some verifiable, positive testimonies from happy customers who have your products installed on their computers. It seems like everyone assumes nobody wants n-case or that other app you distribute. |

Nice one Tommy. You know what I'm asking but feel free to skate around it.... lets try again shall we
So you're saying you do not under any circumstances target the domain bluewidgets.com as a keyword to target. That you would not intercept/pop up on the traffic that came from MSN with the phrase bluewidgets.com in the URL string? That you would not target any click on google that was going to bluewidgets.com? I see I'll need to post the first questions again as you haven't answered them. Cheers Chris

ParasiteWare™ - is technology (including, but not restricted to, browser helpers, browser plug-ins, toolbars and pop ups/sliders) that knowingly or unknowingly undermines or removes another affiliate's ability to compete by changing, intercepting or redirecting an affiliate link. Parasiteware™ may be installed knowingly or unknowingly by the end user, altering their normal web browser functions and/or installing a third party application that works through the user's altered browser.
and I really don't know why we keep this going; we've already heard enough. "pull up your pantlegs -- it's too late to save your shoes!"

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> This forum is not for you, since you bolded the fact that you will never believe me. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I think you will have a pretty lonely time here if you only want to talk to people who HAVEN'T already made up their minds about you and your product. Great stuff you have there. You pay people to put it on other peoples computers and for the length of time it remains there. So, it is put on the computers of the victims in any way what-so-ever and made impossible to remove, costing the "opt-in" victims untold hours, frustration and often a trip to the repair shop where they lose all their precious stuff on their computer during a reformat to get rid of your product which is mostly designed to intercept and steal sales from merchants and affiliates. And, it isn't like the product REALLY saves anyone money shopping. Even if it did save a few people a few cents, that is more than offset by all the poor schmucks who dropped a bundle trying to fix their computers after you and your distributors wrecked them. And, it is offset by the real economic loss that I am sure quite a few endured from the loss of their files thanks to your little helper. Do you in any way actually believe that ANYONE really wants your product on their computer? If you do, why engage in deception hiding it and the terms with other applications? Just offer it as a free download unbundled with anything. Explain honestly what it does. Make it easy and fool proof to uninstall and let them have at it. I'll tell you why you don't. BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS THAT CRAP ON THEIR COMPUTER. THAT'S WHY. You know it. Your company knows it. And, now the people who make our laws know it. You are going down and their will be rejoicing in the streets! No amount of coming here to suck up is going to change it. So, get your walking boots and start looking for the next piece of unmitigated garbage to push on unsuspecting people. Gotta be proud of your product and your job, Tommy. How much do they pay you to come out here and pimp for them? Really, how much would it take for someone be willing to do that?

Ms. B
Happypoon.com could be loaded into our system as a keyword. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated in our efforts to get this uninstall bug fixed. We have our team on it now and have identified some possible causes, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Qball We are competitors, I will not deny that. If you are targeting blue widgets as a keyword in google, more than likely so am I. You know and I know that the user who types that keyword in is more than likely wanting to purchase blue widgets. Chez noir Our client software does receive a kw list which includes all of the keywords we have loaded into the system on a regular basis, but for us to uninstall a program on a users system is not something that we can do. Mrs. Happypoon By presenting the user with the ad right when they are searching for a particular product we have found enormous success. Our users have given us permission to show them relevant ads during their web surfing. It is ultimately up to the user to decide which website they would like to purchase from. Our success comes from our delivery of our advertisements during a users buying mood. We don’t make websites. Our keywords are highly targeted and sports would not be one of them, simply for the fact that sports is a part of a lot of words. We would get way too many hits on a general word like sports. We believe that we can deliver an ad to a user at a better time than any other website. Competition is never seen as a positive thing. I sleep fine, because our company is not undermining or taking advantage of any other companies. Happypoon The difficulty comes from answering the same questions over and over. Many of these questions are the same thing worded in another way. I am trying to provide answers to each and every one of your replies. Jimbo2002 Keywords that are passed into the url string are picked up by our product. I’ll look into the testimonials for you. Chris Our technology gives us the ability to target anything and it is completely up to the discretion of the advertiser whether they want their homepage targeted. Andy Within regards to the content that Zango is keeping free it is, the content from sites that have tried various monetization methods, but have hindered the users experience by doing so. Webmasters out there that create their own cartoons, develop their own games, etc. All of these people have great products, but nobody can survive on doing things for free. Tommy 180solutions.com |
