I think everyone is making good points, and I certainly understand Michael's questions to you Steele. It's hard to make a good argument for or against ephedra based on what we know. I have used it, and never felt any adverse effects. Of course I used it until I hit my goal weight, and then backed off and continued to mantain my weight by eating better and taking care of myself. I honestly don't know what all the research is on these death cases, but couldn't there be something that in combination with the ephedra killed these people? Did most of them smoke? Drink alcohol? Red Bull? My mom tried out the ephedra stuff but started having heart flutters, so she stopped right away. I never once blamed it on just the ephedra though. She's a smoker, has high blood pressure, and a history of strokes. So duh, she shouldn't take ANYTHING that speeds up her heart MORE.

And I do have great respect for anyone that can reach their weight goal by just taking care of themselves. I personally didn't have the patience to wait that long. And I really don't think people should take anything like this everyday just to have more energy and get a 'speed buzz'. This stuff is sold for short term use as a weight loss supplement for good reason, I'm sure.

I become very irritable when I take ephedra, ephedrine or psuedoephedrine. Every little thing makes me angry. I'm not kidding, it's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Even the little 30mg dose for nasal decongesting sends me flying off the handle.

Habanero sauce is much better (for me) in the nasal decongesting department. It lasts 2-3 hours just like "Sudafed" and the like and takes everything out, even my ears. It's good this time of year because I have allergies. I would be in jail if I were stuck with those drugs/herbs/supplements/whatever to decongest.

The more I look at that face Geno posted the more I begin so see the characteristics of a person that is not very intelligent. Have used Stacker 2 Original and Stacker 3 Original with ephedra.
Been reading about the new ephedra supplement regarded as the next generation of ephedra supplements called [a keyword people won't be searching for now...] (extra strength). It is different from the scientifically proven ECA stack of the past. The aspirin in the stack has been replaced for a much better nutraceutical and works better then the ECA. Found it at the [spamcity] website (you can fill in the www and the com at the end to get there)
I got a bottle and tried 1 pill. Felt great all day and energized. Tried another one a few days later and effects are very consistent. Gradual stimulating effect in the beginning with a gradual drop at the end. Energy was up, mental clarity was high, my stuffy nose was gone, appetitie reduced and felt like doing a lot more than usual. Does anybody else have experiences with it? Except Geno of course that is very partial to ignorantly rebuke ephedra. Aspartame and MSG in food is the cause of death. Donald Rumsfeld got Aspartame approved for general use in diet beverages.
Monsanto is the very same company that sells bovine growth hormone to be injected into cows in order to have them grow faster and produce more milk. Geno, open your eyes or get off their payroll.

Oooooooooh, fellow-ABWers... Let's all give a very warm welcome to the intelligent stacker2original that has blessed us by coming here to enlighten us about dietary supplements! Of course... How could I compare to someone like you?!

Out of the only two posts he/she has here BOTH promote the "Stacker 2 Original and Stacker 3 Original with ephedra" (just as his/her beautiful nickname):

Man, I just dug up this thread I posted way back in September, and thought I'd post a little follow up. I to this day still take Stacker 3 pills w/ephedra. Although I still enjoy the benefits of keeping my weight down and suppressing my appetite, as well as feeling energized throughout the day, I have found over the last 6 months or so I've been very restless at night, haven't had many good nights sleep since I really started taking Stackers on a consistant basis. And even though I realize that my sleeplessness has a lot to do with the ephedra, I still continue to take them. It's stupid, I know, but as much as I work, workout, play and stay active throughout my days and weeks, I need these pills. So I will say it now:

Hello...my name is Jon...and I'm addicted to Stackers. {{Hiiii Jon!!}}

So if you've never taken items containing ephedra, I recommend keeping it that way. I in no way endorse the usage of any ephedra based products.

Just thought I'd post this follow up in case anyone ever came across this thread and read this wondering themselves about ephedra...don't use it.

Damn ... scary. Maybe trade the happy pills in for extra coffee ...at least until you're over the wall climbing aspect of getting it out of your system.

for posting about the lingering hell this has caused you. Most people can lose weight just by cutting out sugar and especially SODA - even the diet crap will add pounds. Give it up and see. Most people who have a soda havbit lose 20 pounds the first month they stop drinking it. The science of losing weight hasn't ever changed: consume less calories, exercise more. Basic. And replace sugar with protein when you can.

Hey John,

What you're experiencing is expected, although I'm surprised it took you that long to get there. I had a panic attack in week 2 of my ephedra experience a couple of years ago and have stayed away ever since.

I now use a product called Red Line which suppresses the appetite and increases metabolism but doesn't contain nasty ephedra.

Also, for night time sleeplessness, a friend suggested to me a tea called "Bedtime" which is manufactured by Yogi tea.

Take care!

Thanks Joe for the suggestion. I will look into the "Bedtime" tea.

When I had first started taking the ephedra, I was getting up every morning at 4:30am, working out...going to work...going to night classes...working from home and not going to sleep until near midnight, before repeating the cycle all over again. So one time I was dog tired here at work, and took a Stackers and then guzzled down a redbull and thought my heart was going to pound through my chest about 5 minutes later. Haven't done that sense. lol. Before I took the stackers, i was taking ephedra free hydroxicut and it wasn't doing anything for me. It's not exactly the weight loss I am looking for really anymore, I enjoy the stackers more for the energy I get that allows me to power through my day and has improved my recovery time when I am working out.

It's weird, when I talk to my friends about how much I use stackers, I relate it to them like this: I have two sisters...and it's like when I see one of them in a bad relationship with a guy, who doesn't treat her well and is dragging her down in life...and it's clear to everyone around who knows their relationship, and even she understands he doesn't treat her as well as she deserves, but yet she still stays with him... The stackers(ephedra) is that bad boyfriend...i know it, but I still stay with it. Because it's what I've become accustom to and it works. And I haven't come across anything better.

Yea, I've been soda free for a couple years now, I've actually developed a distaste for it. Now if I can only cut out the big calorie demon....BEER!

Believe me when I say that you'll get energy from RedLine. It's more potent than any stacker I ever tried.

I used to use ephedra. I was trying to lose weight for a body building competition and everyday I consumed the following:

1. Several ephedra pills
2. Two large iced coffees from dunkin donuts. Im talking 32 ounces here

I noticed that I would often lay awake at night, heart pounding until about 4am. Ephedra + coffee is baaad. Caffeine can kill you in sufficient amounts!
