One of my favourite ever cartoons was from Punch magazine, it was a newsreader at his desk with a caption something like:

"Astrology received a boost today as everyone born under the sign of cancer was knocked down and killed by a runaway egg lorry"

This is all for fun Paul, but some of us take it more seriously than others. ;-) I DO believe there is validity in a complete astrological chart, not just "sun signs" as I've been around it all my life and have studied it in depth. Either way, I'm enjoying seeing the results and thsnk everyone for playing along. I will most likely make assumptions about afiliate marketers from the data.

One being: It's interesting that we have more Aires than any other sign. Aires are typically independent thinkers and this business is quite independent. Then again, Aires are more outspoken than most, so it could come down to them being the first to jump on a poll, as Suzi pointed out.

Also, your statistical sample excludes, almost by definition, those who do NOT want assumptions made about them based on what they consider to be nonsense.

Nothing personal, but every time I answer such questions, I soon have to run the clue train over people who otherwise wouldn't have gotten wrong notions of my personality to begin with.

First: Unlike horoscopes, that test based at least in part on the person's actual responses. It at least has had some input from the real person, rather than just ASSUMING! So, people reading wouldn't be making blanket assumptions--often contrary to what's right in front of their faces! (or on their screens, in the case of ABW)--based on the position of the rocks in space.

Second: I haven't taken it, for that thread. And if I do, I won't post it if it's way off base! If it IS on-base I'd have no problem posting it.

(A month or two ago, I did stumble across the Personality Defect Test and took it, so I technically *have* taken it. But, I hadn't joined OKCupid, so it didn't save my results--so if I want to respond to that thread, I'd have to take it again since I forgot what the result was.)


But, if I post my Zodiac sign, that really would give an off-base image of my personality. While a few major points are accurate, there are also many major points that are NOT! Horoscopes always have cockeyed notions of my priorities and where I "am" in life, for example.
