That's a real nice pic.... how far were you from him?
I went to silverstone a few times, pretty cool but it was a long haul and an even longer day by the time you camp out overnight in the line - Thruxton was only 100 miles from home and touring cars were cheaper LOL

That particular picture was probably 20 meters away.
The official F1 test days are free to attend. Approx 3 times per year. Take camera and box to stand on to view over the debris fencing. ![]() I have loads of pics, I'll look out some of the better ones and post them later. |

Not sure when the next test session is but I seem to recall the first one being scheduled for February this year, so I figure it will be around the same time next year. You'll have to take a small gamble because they do not guarantee, which, if any teams will turn up.
Keep an eye on the Silverstone site. http://www.silverstone-circuit.co.uk/ I live about 20 minutes from Silverstone

Allright, the season is over. A season that changed Ferrari's total dominance and probably whole "Red Era". Alonso tied Kimi winning his 7th race. Now I'm more sure that he has deserved to get the Driver's Title. Now we're entering that "dead period". I can't believe this... but the new season will bring many changes: V8, Squadra Toro Rosso, BMW, Williams Cosworth, Barrichello in BAR, Honda, Honda-2 (?) for Sato
and probably many other interesting things.

As far as I can see, everyone is already hibernating along with the season... for long 5 months...

LOL, I'm watching the WRC this weekend from France (Corsica) watching the end of the NASCAR series and looking forward to the Paris Dakar rally in the new year
Oh, and NASCAR will be the first one back after that in February

Respect, TJ! I'm still following the results in MotoGP, despite Rossi thrashed everyone. There are two more races to go and this weekend is the inaugural Turkish GP. WRC must be very cool, but I don't have a possibility to watch it anywhere...
Sorry, but I never understood NASCAR racing. Maybe you will be able to explain what's so cool about it and why it attracts so many people? |

I think the thing for me is the closeness of the racing... I like the fact that it can be one of prolly 30 drivers that win! Unlike F1 where the same people are always on the podium.
As far as popularity, I think it's cos (a) It has good TV coverage and (b) people can relate to the drivers, their cars and thier sponsors ![]() You should sign up for wrc.com, they have some neat feeds from inside the car... I found a link on the web to sign up for free until the end of the year! Doubt I'll renew after that though (unless SpeedTV drops wrc next year) ...it's like 39 pounds or something which is an insane amount of US$.

I just tried to register with wrc.com but they only allow you to do this if you are going to renew the membership for the next year for £39.99. I'm not doing this, definitely!
![]() I really like WRC as there it is probably 80% driver's skills what actually keeps them going, unlike in F1 where it's probably 50/50 if not more on the side of the car with all its electronic help. |

No, it's not on that page. It's when you actually start inputting info for the creation of a new account. Anyway, never mind.
How do you like the new FIA ideas about 1. splitting the rear wing - I think it's stupid, it's not gonna help! 2. one tyre manufacturer, slicks, different size of the tyres - very interesting 3. new qualifying format - pretty good 4. tyre changes - should probably help only Ferrari

I kind of late to the thread but I love most forms of racing (minus Nascar). The big changes are for 2007 right? What do you think about the ALMS series? I saw them run at Laguna Seca this year and it was awesome! There was noooo way I was going to miss the new Porsche LMP2 debut.

Hello,
I have become very interested in f1 only this year really. I have watched every race this year and really enjoy the sport. Living in Australia has meant staying up late to see the races sometimes. This year I plan to go to Melbourne for the first race of the year. I've never been to an f1 event before so it will be a new experience. I guess I should start looking around for tickets too soon. If anyone can offer any advice on attending f1 events, what to do when there, best places to stand or book tickets and where to stay etc then this would be appreciated. btw, what do you people think of our local guy webber, his car was a bit off the pace this year but I think in a fast car he would be a threat! |

Allright, let's bring this thread back to life!
Has anyone heard the news about Schumi? He's gonna make an important announcement this weekend in Monza. I'm a big fan of his and obviously don't want him to quit but guess this is what's gonna happen, unfortunately... Here's what I've found on the net. Go leave a message!http://www.michael-please-stay-in-f1.com/ What do people think about the coming race in Italy? What about the championship? Who's gonna win it this year? It's a tough one for Schumi, as he's 12 points behind now. |

Not much activity in here...
![]() Anyway, it's getting interesting in big circus as there are only 2 points between title contenders with only 3 races to go, and the next one is on Sunday, in China! I'm excited!

Yeah, that was really silly of them. But don't forget about the other mistake (Alonso's as well) - leaving the worn rear tyres and putting on the new front ones.
Who do you think will win the WCC? |
