This site has a video of a guy who recorded himself sitting alone at his computer singing to music, then was brave enough to post it. It's great!

http://www.NumaNumaDance.com

It plays fine on IE 6.0 but not on my NS 6.2. You may have to wait a bit for it to download.

It's terribly addictive. Now I can't get the music out of my head, and I don't even understand the language...

Where you been Mike? This has been going around for months. It's hilarious. The guy was on the news last I heard, bemoaning his "fame" and embarrassed by it. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Hi, Rexanne -- I dunno, somehow I missed it. I just saw it this morning on rec.humor. I guess I need to get out more, been too busy making pages, cutting brush, patching the roof, walking the dogs, etc...

He was on the news? Maybe I should turn on the TV more than once every week or two...naaaah!

I've seen this one before. It really is hilarious.

Mike, he's singing in Romanian. A song by a band from my hometown (Chisinau, Moldova)...

Thanks, Geno -- the Web really shrinks the world!

I found a translation of the lyrics online, but didn't save them after reading them. Like a lot of songs the words don't really make much sense apart from the music. Besides, at this point that song is forever linked in my mind with the image of the guy singing.

I keep playing the video just to listen to the music! So I'll see if I can buy a copy of that one song from MSN's music download service.

From a quick Google search this video has been around since December 2004. Gads, I don't know how I've missed it for so long. I'm glad it's still available! As always, "Good Taste Is Timeless."

It really does, Mike. Get yourself a CD with the music of this band. They are cool!

I just ordered their CD. The only way to get that song out of my head now is to play it over and over until those neurons wear out.

I've got to admit I wasn't planning on ordering a CD of Romanian-language music when I got up this morning. I guess I just wasn't planning properly!

Sigh. Too many interesting things in the world, never enough time. I guess I'm just going to have to live forever. Even though that won't really help the problem...

Great. Now I have that stupid song stuck in my head. And I'm doing the equally stupid dance moves.

I will have my revenge Mike.

I only wish we were selling them.

I hope you'll enjoy their other songs as much as you enjoyed this one.

Heh, heh. Now you're seeing the effects of my nefarious plan. By infecting all the ABW'ers with that song, I can be making pages while they're all out of action! Soon I will rule the affiliate world!

Hmm....but I *haven't* been making pages, I've been listening to that song myself! Over and over. And the dogs are telling me they haven't been fed in a long time. Drat. Foiled again!

You are indeed wise.

...Of course, then you'll never know what body part the guy wiggles at each of the two consecutive "beeps"...

Help! I can't stop this thing! I let it play over and over before my wife went to w*rk. She was hummin' when she left the house. Later I'll call her with this song playing loud. She answers the phone at w*rk on a speaker phone that about 15 people can hear. Oooo, I just thought of some answering machines I can leave it on. Gonna infect some people today. Why not?

Yes, stuck in my head now too.

Ahhh, but I've sent it to all my friends so they can suffer along with me.

Kept resisting this one myself but I finally gave in. Now I can't get the song out of my head. That guy sure looks like he was enjoying himself.

That was TOO funny! I couldn't resist looking either!! What I like is Gary's willingness to let it all hang out. We need more people like him!!!

BTW, did anyone check out the mind reading link at the bottom of the page, it was freaking spooky!

For the sake of others, don't give away the secret unless you put "Magic Trick Spoiler" at the top of your post :-)

How the heck do they do it, anyway??

Don't feel bad Mike, I had not seen it either. We must live under the same rock.

That looks like someone who knows how to enjoy themselves and has a great sense of humor to post that up on the web.

I sure hope that band is paying him royalties off that song.

I heard that song during a trip to Bucharest this summer, then again in Italy. I enjoyed it but this version is hysterical and addictive. Never seen it before.
Could not prevent me to send it to a few friends.

What I think is so wonderful and engratiating about this silly video is that he IS having such a great time and enjoying his own company so much, we all wish we could be as carefree. I felt bad when he was all over the news saying how mortified he was over his "fame." Hopefully, he'll figure out how he's made a lot of people smile and feel good about that.

I'll bet the band is demanding royalties from HIM, not the other way around. Unless they don't have a record label demanding their cut of royalties and they can all appreciate how he's turned their song into a hit. From a music biz POV, the song has to have hit qualities to go there in the first place, but he brought it to the attention of a global audience that would never have heard it.
