It (this week) started with the death of Boris Yeltsin, the first President of Russia.

Today Russia lost another one of its great sons - the legendary composer Mstislav Rostropovich.

He was christened "the greatest of all living composers" by The Times, included into the list of the French Academy's "forty immortals", Honorary Doctor of more than 50 universities, holder of numerous awards and the highest order of the Russian Federation - the Order “Za zaslugi pered Otechestvom” (Order of Merit to Motherland).

Rest in piece. You have been, and will always be one of the country's greatest men.

Rest in piece...

Geno
