Looked the other day at this one and it looks to be mostly gambling merchants. Not going.

From the list of speaking subjects, sponsors, and FAQs, it looks like it's heavily focused on gaming, Europe, and Asia. I only recognize one speaker and two sponsors.

From what I can tell it's not 100% gaming but it seems to be heavily targeted at the gaming affiliates. Someone told me they used to be an affiliate conference which did target just the gaming affiliates and this is their attempt at broadening their horizons. At least, that's what I understood.

It looks like a much smaller conference but who am I to pass up the opportunity to meet other affiliates and likeminded biz folks in person? I may take a boot up to see what it's all about (still deciding) - it's end of August in Montreal - just 5 hours drive from Toronto. Anyone else thinking about going?

They had an event in Amsterdam that I was meant to be presenting at but I had a last minute timing disaster which would have left the kids home alone for 3 days , so i had to drop out .

They have an event in Macau coming up which I will definitely be popping over for. These guys are not new they've been running events for 5 years or so now. As Liz says their focus used to be pure gaming , but they are starting to make a move to become more main stream.

The ShareResults crew I know have been to a number of their events and are likely based placed to comment on the size and turn out.

William is in Vancouver at present, I might have him zip over to Montreal to check it out.

Vancouver Feb for Ian's AMA get together, mark it in your calendar I'll be in town for a week, hopefully Brian will arrange the skiing for day when I don't have meetings and I won't get called a wuss by everyone I meet for not going skiing

Chris can you post a link for that event?? Also, put a bug in the ear of the Affiliate Conference - Canada organizers that they would get a bunch more Yanks if they got rid of the gambling focus. I think Bob's comment about sums it up:

Hey the wider your circle of friends, the greater your opportunities for success.

The affiliates who participate in the gaming industry are people just like us who want to make a mark in life, and just may have some noteful suggestions that I might be able to apply to my own industry.

I'll be speaking at this event. It is run by the same folks that do the show in amsterdam.

In the past it has been completely focused on casino and gambling affiliates however my understanding this year is that it will be going more broad in it's reach this year. I hope to meet some of you there.

Our President, Jivan Manhas attended this convention and spoke on a panel called "Affiliate Marketing 101". He commented to me that it was quite small and still mostly gambling affiliates. Overall, he had a great time and enjoyed meeting some of the other networks and affiliates in attendance. He also got some speaking practice in for his Ad:tech NYC presentation. Hopefully this conference continues to grow and expand even broader.
