So I just tackled my first newsletter and was curious as to what all should be incorporated into a newsletter...

One thing is always keep in mind is your affiliates is really your sales force. You want to train and motivate your affiliates to sell your products with your newsletter.

Hi Terry,
Here's a brief list, off the top of my head...
New products
Best selling products
Changes to Terms and Conditions
Program Updates
Incentive Information
Coupons/Sales/Special Offers
Program Tips
Code for Fresh Creative
Your complete contact information
This is not meant to be all-inclusive, but I hope you find it to be a good start. I'd love to see what others add to this thread to get some ideas myself.

As an affiliate, if you want me to read something, print it on my check. I read the whole thing.

This is a great list of what to include in the newsletters. The only thing I can think to add to the above is a section for Upcoming Events. I always included both upcoming industry events such as local affiliate dinners, as well as upcoming events in the program. So if you were sending out a March newsletter now, it's effective to keep a list of what the affiliate should stay tuned for - spring promotions in the next month or two, a new product to be launched in the next month or two, etc.

I looked at that list, and I know personally I am a skimmer. It would be too much for me I wonder if affiliates would rather get more frequent newsletters that are 2 or 3 topics, or less frequent longer ones.
Plus, while affiliates are our sales force, do they really care, for example - that my metal license plate frames are die-cut instead of stamped like my competitors?
Thanks, Juli

Best/worst practices would be a really good addition. Example:
One of our products is a book called 'Where to Find Gold in California'. Through our own PPC efforts, we learned that most PPC engines will include searches for "california gold rush" among what they consider to be broad match results. These searches flat do not convert, so suggesting affiliates add "rush" to their negative keywords would help prevent wasted PPC dollars.
Anything you know about how to successfully market your products would be useful to your affiliates. They don't know your industry as well as you do.
