It would seem that the only way for an end user to have BargainBuddy not running on their computer is to manage to uninstall it.

Not only does it auto start at booting of the computer (which pretty much all of these programs do), but if you End Task the exe files associated with BargianBuddy (the ony way to attempt to turn it off sincet here is no direct user interface) it will auto start itself again WHENEVER a browser window is OPENED!!! That means BargainBuddy is running whenever the end user is surfing no matter what. It is running and auto setting and/or overwriting cookies.

Additionally I've seen affiliate cookies set through BargainBuddy for all the major Networks.

And as I said in the previous thread, many ABW'ers web sites are being targeted by BargainBuddy for a pop up. If the ABW members site is a coupon/rebate/etc site (which are heavily targeted), it is most likely being targeted for a pop up for deal bandit (web site owned by Exact Marketing). I do find ironic humor in the title tag on the deal bandit home page. Rather appropriate.

Thanks for the info Ms B. When you say "many ABW'ers web sites are being targeted by BargainBuddy", is that statement based on just the fact you receieved a popup or because there is a specific target and or exclusion list you have uncovered?

If you don't feel approriate to respond here for sensitivity reasons, an email would be nice. Obviously, I'm interested in knowing if my sites are being "targeted" or not so I can take actions as needed.

Poon,

Inclusion(rule) for the possible generation of a pop up ad.

I've sent you an email with regards to what I saw regarding your domain(s).
