My husband and I were advised by Jennifer at Trend Revenue of California aka' trendrevenue.com that they are duty-free therefore not charging any sales tax in all states of the United States. We are filing investigative reports on them to help with fraud protection and tax evasion.

Very scary to see

Sales tax is normally due on merchandise sold. What merchandise is TrendRevenue selling?
Not defending them, just trying to understand.

Duty-free and sales tax are two entirely separate things.

Seems like the patriotic thing to do

Appears that Trend Revenue is a drop shipper who is importing foreign goods or fronting for an importer. This is where the "duty free" comes in. Depends on their deal with the "ports authority". These fees are paid by the importer, therefore the end customer or affiliate do not get involved with the import taxes; hence, duty free..

Sales tax is another thing. Since you are buying from them and reselling to your customer............You may get hooked with any sales tax liability.

Nothing illegal here. There are many companies with the same business plan

It looks like a couple people might need clarification on how Trend Revenue is handling Sales Tax. Trend Revenue is 100% compliant with State and Federal Tax fillings, TR is just not asking the consumer to pay sales tax. In an effort to help our affiliates gain additional traction, TR decided, as a company, to pay all sales tax on items and not pass along this extra cost to the consumer. This is a temporary promotion, and we may be adding tax back to the cart as a line item, but for now the cart remains tax-free to consumers.
