Have received several requests to market through this search engine. After checking http://www.starposition.com/ I found a toolbar and checked against McAfee SiteAdvisor which gave a positive review. Comments reflect the spammy nature of the company in soliciting their search engine placement: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/sta...pe=FF&aff_id=0

Further discussion with a company representative disclosed that they utilize an i-frame on their search engine. When asked for a description of the toolbar I was directed to http://www.webmenu.com/ This site has a McAfee SiteAdvisor warning with the following comment: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/web...pe=FF&aff_id=0

Quote:
the toolbar offered on this site is listed on the sunbelt software's bad toolbar list: http://research.sunbelt-software.com...hreatid=129023

Recommended to avoid this affiliate site!

Chuck...

Are you able to update the links in your post? I don't know if it's just my computer, but i'm getting a 404 error when i click on the siteadvisor.com and sunbelt-software links.

Thanks!

Here's the site advisor link for their toolbar:
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/webmenu.com/summary/
"3 yellow downloads: In our tests, we found downloads on this site that some people consider adware, spyware or other potentially unwanted programs"
(site advisor is pretty slow right now)

The link from SunBelt is obsolete.
I had a look at StarPosition and I don't like their statement:
"Proven and immediate search engine placement results. Your site - not a link - appears at the top of all the main search engines."
You can't do that without hijacking something.
