With or without following an affiliate link, when a visitor searches on Priceline.com they are presented with banner ads at the top of the page by the Google...

Convergence I linked your post so it gets picked up quicker. Would be a huge win for affiliates if a Priceline made a change for them. On the other hand its not a big deal to set affiliate referred links to not show contextual ads.

Interesting: seems ONLY to appear when clicking on an affiliate link.

Opened up a fresh browser, no cookies. Went direct to Priceline. No ads. Clicked on affiliate link. Ads appear...

We see some affiliates with high clicks but no sales and offer to help them hone their pages. Well I guess they have figured out how to monetize affiliate clicks by making advertising dollars from their traffic. I complained to Travelocity's AM when I was using the site and it was popping ads for TravelZoo. I thought it was adware but looks to be the same as Priceline.
