Actually I turned my computer back on in order to check postal rates.
I'm in the middle of a very long, informative, and (hopefully) entertaining thank-you letter.
I got in trouble for sending a "late" thank-you last year and once again I see annoyance that I didn't send something entertaining by New Year's.
I could send an expedient "thank-you" but it would be short and sappy/insipid.
I'm on page #4 (typed with Microsoft Word) and it still is not finished. I hope to finish it tomorrow and send it.
I took a look at ABW because I'm always in the pursuit of something interesting myself -- going back to bed now

I'm on the west coast. It's not yet midnight here. I regularly go to bed after 1am. I would stay up until 3am if I didn't have to get up in the morning to go to a day j*b.

Days are for sleeping, especially at this time of year. Who needs to be up to have the glare on the screen or look at the dreary w*nter weather?! I only "do days" when I have to deal with some place(s) that still follows the archaic practice of closing.

People who are naturally day people aren't qualified mates anyway

I may agree with that, because I am a night owl.
But the problem is, that it's not that easy or wise, to try to find female mates that qualify, during the night. ;-)

It's the only time the phone is not ringing and emails slow down. I find it to be one of my most productive times, between midnight and 2:00 AM. Fortunately I'm one of those people that only needs few hours sleep.

My best writing always happens at night, I tend to stay up for a while after my wife has gone to bed. I've always been a night owl, but less so these days. Back in the mid 90's, when I was going to try my hand as a novelist, I wrote an entire novel (handwritten, this was before I owned a laptop) in a Denny's in Boca Raton, Florida, typically between 11pm and 6am. I don't stay up much past 1am these days.

Morning people are respected.
Night people are feared.

heh heh heh ... I like that. :-)
I end up working until after 1 AM most nights even if I have to get up early to take my daughter to school. My brain activates at midnight no matter how tired I am.
When the house is finally quiet and no one is demanding attention, I can work without distractions and ideas start popping into my brain. I do my best work in the middle of the night.
Thank God for affiliate marketing or I'd be a complete basket case.

I try to go to bed around 1 am, but then my significant other starts snoring really really loud, so I get up and start working. Sometimes I'm still working when his 6 AM alarm goes off.

My S/O is an elementary school teacher, goes to bed early, so I put the kids to bed, well they actually do that themselves, I just make the rounds to tell them all goodnight and give them one last chance to tell me things they need, then I check on my spouse to see what she needs of me, then I sit at my desk or the couch with my laptop and stay up until about 2 or 3 am working.....I am not a morning person, but it amazes me how often people say I must be...nope I am a morning monster, I get up between 5:45 and 6:30 to get everyone ready for school then head to the office....now on the weekends I sleep in as late as I possibly can.....except for days like tomorrow, my youngest has a 9:00am basketball game, so nix the sleeping in and forget the nap because I have a hair appointment at 2:30 that will take at least 2 hours.....Now Sunday, I am so out of commission.....bed, sleep....yummy!!!!!!!!!!

I once had a job with a Hellish commute where I had to get up at 5:20 AM each day.
Ooh, and my "first job" I had to get up at 4:00 AM --forgot about that one
Although sometimes I wish I had had kids, it's more of a fantasy desire
I am amazed at how some Moms [in reality] can wake up really early each morning to get the kids off to school -- I admire them.
