That's pretty sweet. You any good at guitar?? Perhaps you can give me some lessons... I've owned two accoustics for about 3 years now...and when I play it still sounds like a tone def 8 year old trying to play guitar.

I don't know if I'm any good....been playing for about 24 years and I have a degree in music.

But all that means is that I'm stubborn and wasted lots of money on a piece of paper.

Pick one simple song that you like. Good examples are tunes like "Jack and Diane," most any early Beatles, things like "all along the watchtower" or "knockin on heavens door." Learn that one tune, then move it to a new key and relearn it (I can help with chords). Eventually you'll know enough chords to be dangerous.

LOL. 24 years huh? That's all?

I've taken a few lessons, the problem is, is I will get into playing for about 2 months...then stop for about 8...then get back into it...then stop again...

I tried to woo over a girl once about 2 years ago, by playing and singing a song for her...and I haven't heard from her since...so I don't think it went so well.

But I think playing any musical instrument is one of the coolest hobbies/skills one can have. I have many friends in bands, and I'm jealous of their talents and ability to play their instruments.

Yoooooo...everyone, Joe's got some skills. I think everyone would enjoy your music. Perhaps the next summit/convention you attend, you might have to put on a concert during one of the after parties. We'll do pre-sale tickets...$400 each...for the nosebleed seats...

I don't want to take away from Loxly's "My stuff finally got here" thread, but...

When I moved here, I sent 7 guitars and 3 electric pianos via UPS - and insured them for $10,000.00

Never got here.

I called UPS and said, well gimme the ten grand instead

They sent a printout of a chicken-scratch signature saying someone signed for them - so they don't have to pay

I went to police and said my stuff was stolen

They said it's not stolen - it's "missing" - there's a difference - so they couldn't help

Billy that's horrible. When I was wholesaling out here in Vegas my customers had the EXACT same problem. Seems to be common with UPS 'round here. When I moved here from Chicago I packed *all* of my clothing. My guitars were checked and/or carried on. I wasn't going to trust ANYONE with those things.
