You mean, by the same ones that built the Great Wall?

At one point last year, I was receiving several thousand infected emails per day. My PC-based antivirus software was deleting them, but they were the kind with large attachments so it was taking forever to download my email. I ended up installing a server-based antivirus package (clamav) and now it deletes all of them without me having to download them.

Wow, when I first read Neil's post, I thought, "wow, if someone is trying to 'get' him, then someone is really, really, really trying to 'get' me." When I operated my own mail server, I sometimes received 100, 300, or even 500 virus-laden emails in a single day. I also had a variety of IP and header-based filters that probably led to many, many more being either denied or blackholed. When I switched servers in April, I went with a third-party email service (Luxsci.com) that provides several levels of spam/virus protection for a reasonable price (under $10 total, for two active accounts spanning a dozen domain names, each with unlimited inbound aliases).

When I check the "quarantine," there are still 100 or more virus-laden emails in my queue every day, along with a few dozen spam emails -- but literally THOUSANDS of each are blocked completely every day.

Alas, a couple of weeks ago someone launched what appears to be a very large spam campaign, forging one of my domains as the return address, and so I'm seeing 100 or more "bounce" emails per day getting through the spam filters, and thousands more being quarantined or blocked. (Fortunately, I've never used the affected domain to send email, though it is a moderate-traffic web site, so I've green-lighted the addition of that domain name to spam blacklists.)

Just found that ZoneAlarm's spyware cleaner automatically cleans off all cj cookies, including the new ones, without asking.

Maybe they kill their competitors' cookies?!

I would still love to see the link to the article that WomanHT talked about.

Why not? If they kill their own cookies, they won't have to pay commissions.
